IAMO's Ukraine International Research Group
IAMO’s Ukraine International Research Group aims to facilitate sustainable international and interdisciplinary research, networking, intensive scientific exchange, and collaboration in the field of Ukrainian studies in the agricultural, food, and rural sectors. Particularly since the Russian attack on Ukraine and the pursuit of EU integration, new political, economic, institutional, and societal challenges have emerged. These require the intensification of multidisciplinary research and the transfer of results to relevant stakeholders.
IAMO's Ukraine International Research Group provides a platform for exchange and collaboration to make a collective scientific contribution to the advancement of agricultural economic research in Ukraine and to develop innovative solutions for business and policy.
The research group's interests and expertise cover a broad spectrum of topics, including:
- Institutional frameworks and EU integration
- Sustainability of agriculture and food system
- Digitalization and societal acceptance of modern agri-food systems
- Agri-food markets and value chains: competition and resilience
- Agricultural trade and policy
- Adaptation to environmental changes
- Rural governance and development
The group maintains close connections with academia, businesses, civil society, and politics in Ukraine and engages in knowledge transfer and capacity building to achieve societal and policy impact.
