The international workshop on the labor market in Ukraine's agriculture took place in Halle (Saale), Germany, from 24 to 26 June 2024.

During the 3-days Workshop, more than 30 researchers and experts from Ukraine and Germany addressed labor market challenges in Ukraine’s agricultural sector, which is facing demographic shifts, technological changes, and the ongoing Russian aggression. On the first day, participants had the possibility to exchange on agricultural labor market prospects in Ukraine and Germany. Also, the experts from the Czech Republic, Lithuania, and Poland provided insights on development, challenges, and measures to address the challenges on the demand and supply sides. On the second day, participants visited the Agricultural Company "Agrargesellschaft Prießnitz" (AGP) and the Winzervereinigung in Naumburg, where they explored sustainable practices and discussed practical solutions on labor force deficit in agriculture. The final day featured participation in the IAMO Forum 2024 and an organized session on “Who will work on land in the future? Labor market transitions in Eastern European agriculture”. The event fostered dialogue among researchers, agribusiness, and policymakers to explore solutions to the labor market disparities in order to support resilient and sustainable development in the agri-food sector.
